Fourways exhibit
Temporary timber stands with teardown notes.
What Fourways exhibit taught the yard
Temporary timber stands with teardown notes. Projects at WoodMax are not trophy shots. They are proof that a workshop path, a timber SKU, and a grain note can hold under real SA constraints: power windows, dusty yards, coastal humidity, and mall access rules that move.
We keep the write-up practical. What was the blocker sentence. Which timber path carried the week. Which checklist items went green first. What we would do differently next time. If you see your shop in this story, email yard@ with the project name in the subject and we will point you to the matching workshop leaf.
It is easy to chase the photo instead of protecting the checklist. We refuse that habit on purpose.
Reuse the pattern
Do not copy the aesthetic. Copy the sequence. Blocker, timber path, nest or finish card, handoff. That is the pattern that travels from Midrand cabinets to Ballito outdoor kits without becoming a franchise script.
- Blocker sentence written before day two
- Primary timber path opened with specs started
- Exceptions logged before the showroom hour
- Follow-up note within five working days
South African constraints that showed up
Load-shedding truncated at least one shift. Courier windows moved. A mall supplier asked for a cleaner handoff note. None of that was surprising. What mattered was that the checklist still made sense when power returned. Email yard@woodmax.co.za if you want the matching workshop and resource pack for a similar week.
Sequence we reused
Blocker sentence, timber path, nest or finish card, handoff. That pattern travelled through this project without becoming a franchise script. If you copy anything, copy the sequence, not the aesthetic.
showroom suppliers can continue a similar week if your checklist photo is honest. Operated by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd, mailto only.
When shops ask for a portfolio pack, we send this leaf plus the matching workshop and one grain note. That is enough for a Monday standup. It is not enough to replace your own site survey, and we will say so if the brief needs one.
What we would change next time
Usually one thing: earlier remnant tags, earlier moisture logs, or a clearer named owner on the handoff form. Rarely the timber SKU itself. Email yard@woodmax.co.za with this project name if you want the change note expanded for your city.
